PRESS RELEASE – Thank ‘Ewe’

Lake Parish Council Chair, Paul Brading, officially ‘unveiled’ a new gate outside of Copse Mead Nature Reserve, and welcomed back over 90 easy keep sheep, who ‘share’ the mead with other Parishioners, before the land is flailed later in the year.

Cllr Brading thanked Natural Enterprise’s Danny Horne for making the projects possible, and also shepherd Ross Simpson for the loan of the sheep.

Paul said ‘Thanks to all involved in the projects, balancing continued public access, and the natural environment, with a badger and foxes also resident in the mead; with butterflies to revisit in the spring.’

Danny added ‘It’s really good use of a small site, and provides better protection for the sheep, with local residents appreciating the seasonal visitors.’
